Happy Easter Sunday! The Easter bunny has visited the Village of Keene leaving behind a trail of laminated paper Easter Eggs!  It was a large area to hop around but she managed to check out where people play sports and then head over towards Pinecrest. There is a little trip on the path by the Seniors’ Apartments to Heritage Line and over to Second St.  She didn’t want kids to have to cross the street multiple times so many of these eggs can hopefully be seen from a distance.

Use the following clues to find each of the 9 places the Easter Bunny has left an egg. Leave the egg where it is but check it off on your list when you have found it.

  1. I stopped at this office, but no one was working on Sunday. I noticed that you could meet some members of this staff on Tuesday May 12 and Tuesday June 9 at 7 p.m. at Keene United Church Hall when they are talking about municipal services (May) and Emergency Preparedness (June).  These are important things to learn about our community.
  2. I hopped by home plate and wanted to hop around the bases, but I decided I need to save my energy for the rest of my trip around the village.
  3. I was curious to see if the staff were spending time taking the ice out of the rink. I didn’t go inside but I peeked through the doors hoping to catch a glimpse of the Dave Nelson Wall of Honour – a wonderful way to celebrate people in our Township who invest time and energy making this community great.
  4. My legs were hurting from all my hopping, so I stopped in here to get some medical attention. The nurse told me to go to the park to rest on the bench there.
  5. I found a nice park and hopped on the teeter-totter and played on the monkey bars. Somewhere as I was playing, I dropped an egg. Oops!
  6. I know today is a holiday from school, but I decided to hop by the school anyway. I can’t see it from the window, but I love the poster near the entrance that teaches the 7 Grandfather teachings: Wisdom, Love, Respect, Bravery, Honesty, Humility, and Truth— they help us live in harmony with creation and each other. While I was peeking, I think one of the eggs might have blown out of my basket. Do you see it anywhere?
  7. I thought the seniors who live here might like an Easter egg. It is great that so many people can live in apartments in our community.  You might see some of the people sitting out on their patios.  Wave to any people you see, it will brighten up their day.
  8. I hopped by this gift shop to give the owner an Easter egg, she has great things to buy in this store. I didn’t go in because I didn’t have time to stay and shop – I wish I did but I have to get to my last stop on my route.
  9. I dropped an egg off at this place to support all the work they do once a month offering food to people who need it in our community. While I was there I borrowed a book from the cute little library outside the door.  Then I layed down in the stable on the lawn…maybe I’ll still be here when you get here!

Congratulations on completing the tour! If you have preregistered, come to Keene United Church between noon and 2 p.m. Easter Sunday (April 5, 2026) to receive a “Treat Bag” left for you by the Easter Bunny.
