On the second Tuesday of each month, at 7:00 p.m. the Church hosts a Learning and Leisure Information Event electronically via zoom. Organizers of the Learning and Leisure Sessions provide an interesting cross-section of speakers from throughout the community who provide an approximately one-hour video presentation of the evening's topic of interest, together with a question and answer session at the end of the evening.

These Learning and Leisure sessions are also recorded and posted on YouTube for viewing at your convenience.

A list of the "Learning and Leisure" sessions which have been enjoyed by many, together with their YouTube links, are noted below:

Partnership with Hiawatha United Church

Keene United Church has a long-standing partnership with Hiawatha United Church. The village of Hiawatha was the first place in Peterborough County to have a church mission established. In the 1820s a mission school, church and manse were built in Hiawatha. The Hiawatha Church was originally served by ministers or laymen from Keene Methodist Church. After church union in 1925, Hiawatha was served by Alderville First Nations ministers until 1958, when the ministers from Keene United Church began serving the congregation, and they continue to do so to this day.

Hiawatha United Church celebrated its 100th Anniversary on August 2, 1970.
